Alligator Shears

Alligator shears or crocodile shears are widely used in scrap yards around the world. They are one of the solutions for metal recycling and ideally suited to cut scrap metal and separate the different material parts, increasing their purity and value from your metals. Our shears are ideal for recycling scrap bars, extrusions, gear boxes and gate valves. They are also used for cutting cables prior to the cable recycling. Certain Alligator Shears models come with a front-mounted anvil and may have a hydraulic hold-down clamp and can be used in manual, semi-automatic and fully automatic cycles.

Precious metals that can be found in the monolith are platinum, rhodium and palladium. Contact us and talk to one of our specialists about the use of alligator shear for the processing of catalysts.

Working method of the alligator shears

How does the alligator shear work and what is it used for? When you want to cut or clean your material, insert the material between the mouth of the shear. With the foot pedal you can control the shearing movement. The counter holder (hydraulic or mechanical) ensures that the material is 'stopped'. With the help of two knives, the material is being cut. The knives of the Forfex 400 / 500  / 600 can be rotated up to four times, giving them a very long service life. All our alligator shears are robust and easy to use.
